What is Compact Laminate? Compact laminate has an attractive design and outstanding product characteristics. The extreme durability and moisture resistance make it the ideal material for indoor applications with high impact and increased demand for hygiene and cleanliness, such as in kitchens, restrooms, sanitary rooms, hospitals, changing rooms, or restaurants. How is Compact Laminate Made? Compact laminate products are manufactured by carefully fusing multiple layers of Kraft paper sandwiched between decorative papers with heat and pressure. Kraft and Decorative papers are first impregnated with resin, specifically phenolic resin for Kraft papers and Melamine resin for Decorative papers. The papers are entirely immersed in the resin bath to ensure balanced saturation of the resin and transferred to an oven for drying. Once the paper exits the dryer, it is cut into size.
